Jolene Mccomiskie

Jolene joined the team late 2022 having recently competed in masters bikini. She was looking to make the jump up to the masters figure category and wanted a new coach to go along with it.

We revamped her training to help bring up the right areas she needed to bring up to be competitive the next time she stepped on stage and over the coming months her physique completely transformed. I recommended that she wait until at least 2024 to compete so that she could get the size on and she was more than willing to bide her time and grow.

Throughout the entire process Jolene was always willing to push her bodyweight up, get strong in the gym and eat her meals. Being a vegan I ensured that the food she was on suited her needs/wants and that she got in enough of the right nutrients from the get go.

In late 2023 we entered a prep for the upcoming Scottish season in 2024 and by the end of it, she had collected a cabinet full of trophies and silverware. I attribute a lot of Jolene’s success to her willingness to push herself in her off season, stick to the plan and execute everything to the highest level of her ability.

Couldn’t have been more proud of her and everything she’s accomplished to date but in the grand scheme of things, we are only just getting started.

Across her season Jolene collected:

6 x 1st
3 x 2nd
1 x 3rd

Here’s what Jolene had to say about her journey:

“I contacted Vaughan days after stepping off stage from a British final looking for a new direction to change from Masters bikini to figure. I had 5 different calls with coaches but straight away Vaughan stood out. His call was when he was in Poland at a clients show, he was honest, realistic and positive about where and when he seen me stepping on stage. Within 24hrs he messaged saying he had a meal & training plan ready to go when I did, the other coaches didn’t even get back to me within that week.

From October 2022 Vaughan has been consistent with his coaching. Always honest, empathetic and ready to adapt when personal circumstances change. Being vegan and coeliac has never been an issue with a varied meal plan and anything I’ve not liked has instantly been changed no questions.

All of my 6 show days this season have run smoothly and this is down to Vaughan always being a step ahead. Months prior providing show and hotel info, then on the day always having a plan ready for check ins, meals and generally just always being there throughout from the minute you wake up. Having a coach on show day has helped by settling my nerves, perfect my posing and always the loudest cheerleader in the audience.

I couldn’t speak more highly of Vaughan as a coach. He understands every aspect of prep and off season, first hand. His knowledge is invaluable in every way. He is there for the highest of highs on stage but also the emotional lows that you can’t explain and don’t know how to understand or control. He replies within minutes, even during his family time. If your looking for a coach who’s number one priority is his team, then Vaughan is the only coach to contact.”
